PILOT PLANT ON CO₂ COMPENSATION AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT FEATURING EXCELLENT RESULTS

Our concept of combining CO₂ compensation with decentralised wastewater treatment – an approach that we call “C to the Power of 3” (C3) – has proven successful. Our C3 pilot plant in Soc Trang / Vietnam is not only treating wastewater from a school and a wet market nearby – highly efficient and up to Vietnamese standards – but also capturing carbon in a bamboo plantation!

The bamboo will be harvested regularly, chopped and stored in open pit mines in order to remove the captured carbon from the atmosphere – forever! Unlike traditional reforestation and tree farming projects, the captured carbon will hence not be released into the atmosphere through degradation or incineration processes.

More C3 projects are currently under development, in cooperation with international CSR partners. The creation of an international C3 fund is also underway, creating CSR opportunities for companies and institutions wishing to offset their CO₂ emissions and at the same time making a difference for local communities by treating their wastewater free of charge.
